Zirakpur, August 31 (HP)
After the death of a laborer allegedly due to electrocution in Dhakoli’s Krishna Enclave Colony, the family members protested outside Dhakoli police station and blocked the road to investigate the matter.
The protesters calmed down after the police registered a case under Section 304A against the landlord and the contractor.
Pradeep Kumar, one of the family members who were protesting outside Dhakoli police station, said that his uncle Balchand (45) was doing stone scavenging work in a house in Krishna Enclave. Balchand suddenly got electrocuted due to which he died on the spot.
He accused the contractor and the landlord that his uncle died due to his negligence as he had installed a stone-rubbing machine directly in the meter.
He alleged that Balchand felt the current at nine o’clock and the family members were informed about it at three o’clock in the afternoon. He said that he complained to the police but the police did not listen to him due to which angry people protested outside the police station and blocked the road. On the other hand, Dhakoli police station in-charge Misranjit Singh pacified the protesters by assuring them of speedy action.
The station in-charge said that on the basis of the complaint of the relatives, action has been started against the landlord Manoj Tiwari and the contractor Ranjit Singh by registering a case under Section 304A of the IPC. He said that the deceased left behind five girls.
