Kochi/New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday termed corruption as the biggest obstacle in the way of the aspirations of the youth of the country and said some political parties were giving it protection. Advising the countrymen to be alert from such people, he said that the time has come for a decisive fight against corruption.
Addressing a public meeting in Kochi, Prime Minister Modi said that as action is being taken against the corrupt, a new polarization is also starting in the country’s politics. He said that the country and the people of Kerala have to be alert from those who protect the corrupt.
Describing his stay in Kerala on the occasion of Onam, the Prime Minister said that following the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, the BJP government is converting big resolutions into accomplishment. He said that the nectar of independence is to work on the resolve to make India a developed nation and the hardworking people of Kerala have a big role to play in this.
Modi said that wherever there is a BJP government across the country, the pace of development is fast. The reason for this is the double engine government at the center and the state. This same government can help in taking the development of Kerala to new heights.
He said that the biggest priority of the Central Government is to provide basic facilities to every citizen of the country and to create modern infrastructure. He said that the government is running a campaign to provide pucca houses to every poor of the country. About two lakh pucca houses have also been sanctioned for the poor of Kerala under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. I am happy that out of this more than one lakh 30 thousand houses have been completed.
The Prime Minister said that the central government is working to open at least one medical college in every district, and this will greatly benefit the youth of Kerala. To develop modern infrastructure, the BJP government is spending around one lakh crore rupees on various projects in Kerala.
He said that the way Adi Shankaracharya united India, it is still a strong link of Indianness. It is noteworthy that Kalady in Kerala is the birth place of Adi Shankaracharya.
