A construction worker was killed when his bike collided with a cement barricade on Vellamadam four-lane road near Nagacoil early on Saturday.
Chondhav Sathish (31) hails from Dammatukkonam area near Nagarkot. He is a construction worker and has 2 children. He was returning home on a two-wheeler after completing his work in Tirunelveli. When he arrived at Vellamadam four-lane road at around 3 am on Saturday, the bike hit a cement barricade. In this, he died on the spot.
Aralvaimozhi police came and conducted an investigation, seized the body and sent it to Asarippallam Government Hospital for post-mortem.
Four lane road works are going on from Kavalkinar to Thiruvananthapuram. Only a few places have completed the work. In this regard, cement barriers have been set up on the road in Vellamadam area. Due to this, various parties have demanded that they should be removed as there are frequent accidents in the area.
