Heavy rain is likely in 12 districts on Sunday due to the low atmospheric circulation prevailing over the northeastern regions, the Chennai Meteorological Department said.
In this regard, the Center issued a notification: Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Tirupattur districts on Sunday due to the atmospheric circulation prevailing over the North-Eastern parts.
Sep.5: Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Krishnagiri, Salem, Darumapuri, Karur, Namakkal, Kalakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruppattur, Trichy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in Chennai.
Warning to fishermen: Cyclone is likely to blow in Kumari Sea, Gulf of Mannar, South-East Coast and South-West Bay of Bengal on September 4, 5 and 6. 40 to 60 km per hour. A 5-day warning has been issued to fishermen as a strong cyclone is expected to blow at high speed.
