On February 3, 2019, Salah’s body was found along with the wreckage on a Guernsey beach.
A video of the last moments of Argentine football star Emiliano Sala, who died in a plane crash in January 2019, is circulating on social media. Salah died in a plane crash while preparing to move from French club Nantes to English Premier League team Cardiff City.
Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson can be seen in the video posted by the BBC. This is the CCTV footage of January 21, 2019. These are the scenes 45 minutes before the flight. Ibbotson had raised concerns about the plane in a phone call with a friend.
“I picked a footballer from Cardiff. He was bought from Nantes. I think £20 million or so. They assigned me to pick him. I usually have a life jacket between my seats, and I’ll be wearing my life jacket tomorrow, that’s for sure,’ he is heard saying in the video.
Salah also had concerns about the plane. If you don’t hear from me in the next hour and a half, I don’t know if anyone will be looking for me because I haven’t been found. Man, I’m so scared. The video also shows the final scenes of the plane taking off.
On February 3, 2019, the BBC reported that Sala’s body was found along with the plane’s wreckage on a beach in Guernsey. But Ibbotson’s body was never found. Salah moved to Cardiff City on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a club record transfer fee of £15 million.
