While the police did not take immediate action against the DMK councilor and supporters who assaulted women near Ponneri in Tiruvallur district, the incident of the woman’s relative being stoned to death is taking place.
Gayatri, who lives in Aladu area near Ponneri in Tiruvallur district, has been forced to vacate the house due to a disagreement with Nandini, a female relative who was living on rent in her native house. After vacating the house, Nandini took the key and kept it. On the day of the incident, it is said that during the discussion in this regard, Ponneri 17th ward DMK councilor Elango, Ernavur Hariharan and others in support of Nandini attacked Gayathri and her family.

Gayathri and her sister Keerthi were beaten outside the house and tried to enter the house by Nandini and Ilango’s supporters, causing her to scream for help.
While Gayatri filed a complaint with the Ponneri police along with the CCTV footage related to the incident, the police did not take immediate action and it is said that they waved it off as a civil problem. Meanwhile, it is said that Vinod, Dilipkumar and Rajkiran, supporters of Councilor Ilango, argued and assaulted relatives Robert and Balamurugan, who supported Gayatri to file a complaint with the police.
In this attack, Balamurugan was hit with a stone while Robert was running away and died on the spot. The police registered two cases on the complaint of both sides regarding the attack incident and arrested Vinod Kumar and Rajkiran in connection with the murder incident. They are looking for Dilip Kumar who is absconding.
At the same time, Gayatri’s relatives alleged that if the police had arrested the councilor and his supporters at the beginning of the incident, the murder would not have happened.
