Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has boycotted the meeting of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on May 27. Mann said that the central government is creating hurdles in many public welfare schemes of Punjab. Whether it is the RDF amount or the reduction in crop prices, Punjab is consistently losing out. So I have no desire to go to this meeting and take pictures.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has sent a detailed note on matters related to Punjab to the central government. In it, he expressed his public displeasure and accused the Center of ignoring the interests of Punjab.

Apart from Mann, AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also not attend the NITI Aayog meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a meeting of NITI Aayog with the Chief Ministers of all the states of the country. It is not yet clear who will lead the state government in the absence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in this meeting of Niti Aayog.

Discussions with opposition parties
Interestingly, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are trying to unite opposition parties against the central government. For this, he has sought support from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) president Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai and NCP leader Sharad Pawar.

CM Mann and Arvind Kejriwal are trying to garner support from opposition parties in various states to oppose the central government’s ordinance and withdraw the bill being tabled in the Rajya Sabha.
