The Supreme Court will hear today a petition demanding that the President should inaugurate the new Parliament building. Advocate Jaya Sukin filed this petition on Thursday.

He has said in the petition that the Lok Sabha Secretariat has violated the Constitution by not inviting the President to the inauguration. Lok Sabha Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Law have been made parties in this case.

The petitioner said- the President is the first citizen of the country, all the works are done in his name
Advocate Jaya Sukin has said in the petition that the Lok Sabha Secretariat informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament on May 18. Parliament consists of two houses, the President and the Parliament. The President is the first citizen of the country. The President has the power to summon and dissolve Parliament.

He appoints the Prime Minister and other ministers. In particular, all works are carried out in their own name. The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued the order arbitrarily without any consideration. Not inviting the President of India Draupadi Murmu to the inauguration of the new Parliament building is a flagrant violation of the Constitution. The President also has executive, legislative, judicial and military powers.
