The first charge sheet may be filed today in the famous Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj. Umesh Pal, the main witness in the Raju Pal murder case, and his two official gunners were killed by miscreants on 24 February. About three months after the incident, now the UP police is preparing to file a charge sheet in this case.

According to the information, charge sheet will be filed on behalf of CO Dhumanganj in the Umesh Pal murder case. It is said that the police has also invoked the SC-ST Act in the charge sheet. In this charge sheet, the name of six accused is coming to the fore. The role of Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista in the Umesh Pal murder case will also be mentioned in the charge sheet.

The day after Umesh Pal’s murder on February 24, wife Jaya Pal filed a case against Atiq Ahmed and others. Prayagraj police had arrested student leader Sadaqat Ali in this case on 27 February. This was also the first arrest made by the Prayagraj police in the Umesh Pal murder case.

Before the completion of 90 days of the first arrest in the Umesh Pal murder case, the police is now preparing to file a charge sheet in the court. It is said that in this first charge sheet of Prayagraj police, the names of six accused including Sadaqat Ali, Atik Ahmed’s servant Rakesh Lala are named. Due to imposition of SC/ST Act in Umesh Pal murder case, the matter is now being investigated by CO level officers as per rules.

CO will file chargesheet due to SC-ST Act

Due to the SC-ST Act, the charge sheet also has to be filed by the CO rank officer only. Of these, six accused including Atiq and Ashraf have been killed. Three accused including Shaista and Guddu Muslim are still out of reach of the police.
