Bareilly, Amrit Vichar. While crossing the road near the culvert of Kalapur in Izzatnagar police station area, the retired soldier came under the truck along with the bike after a collision with the car, due to which he died on the spot. At the same time, the police reached the information and took the dead body in possession and sent it for postmortem.
According to the information, 54-year-old Itwari Singh, a resident of Anupura Jagir village of Izzatnagar police station area, retired in 2019 as a hero in the army. He had also built a house of his own in Rithora. On the other hand, Itwari Singh was returning to his village from Rithora at around 5 pm on Thursday. Just then, while crossing the road near Kalapur’s culvert, a car hit his bike. Jumping from this, Itwari Singh came under the truck full of sugar and died on the spot.
After the accident, the car driver fled along with the car. While the truck driver left the truck and fled from the spot. During this, a huge crowd gathered on the spot and there was a jam. Where people called 112, but no response was received.
Meanwhile, on the information of passers-by, Hafizganj police station chief Chetram Verma along with the force reached the spot and pacified the villagers. After about an hour, the police of Izzatnagar police station reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. The retired soldier is survived by his wife Nanhi Devi, one son and four daughters. Two of these daughters are married.
