A car collided with a government bus near Thiruvennainallur in Villupuram district, killing two people on the spot. Due to this there was a traffic jam on the road.

Chittanallur village is under the Thiruvennainallur police station limits of Villupuram district. The village is adjacent to the Chennai-Trichy National Highway. In this case, 5 members of the family of the soldier who had gone on a trip to Kodaikanal were going to their hometown by car. Then the front tire of the Scorpio burst. In this, the car hit the road block and collided with the government bus coming in the opposite direction. Prito Mary and Sakayaraj who were sitting in the front of the car died on the spot in the accident.
Three persons sitting in the back of the car were rescued with serious injuries and admitted to Mundiambakkam Government Hospital for treatment. The incident caused a 2-km traffic jam on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway. Tiruvennainallur police have registered a case and are investigating.
