Delhi-Srinivaspuri, under the leadership of the Delhi-based International Action Council for Democratic World Government, held a hunger strike demanding the restoration of peace in Palestine and Israel. About 100 human rights activists and various socio-cultural and political activists participated in the Satyagraha, which was led by Action Council Chairman Rajeev Joseph. An application was made to the Delhi Police for permission to hold a “Candle March” at Jantar Mandar on October 28. But after the police did not allow the “candle march” at Jantar Mandar, the Action Council decided to organize a hunger strike at Srinivaspuri without the permission of the police.
The Fasting Satyagraha was organized by demanding that the Government of India take immediate action to end the Israeli-Palestinian war in which thousands of innocent people are dying, and that the United Nations and all world leaders take the initiative to restore peace in West Asia by declaring Israel and Palestine as two independent states. Rajeev Joseph, chairman of the Action Council, said that he does not support the Israeli government and Hamas, which are massacring people, no matter what the justification is. The Israeli government and Hamas stand idly by as they perpetrate brutality against humanity.
Rajeev Joseph added that power-hungry world leaders are also religious fanatics. What the war supporters fail to realize is that if the war spreads, millions of innocent people in Israel and Palestine will be killed, only because of their religious fanaticism and frozen conscience. Rajeev Joseph said that their belief in God and prayers are fake and ridiculous.
Rajeev Joseph said that the workers of the organization “International Action Council for Democratic World Government” are not fools who think that the war will end by doing satyagraha against the war, and that the workers of the Action Council are only fulfilling their moral responsibility to stand up and speak energetically against the warmongers who are killing the human race. As human rights activists, this fast is observed with a secular perspective. The activists of the Action Council requested the central government not to try to suppress the peaceful protests and voices of protest in India on the Israel-Palestine issue, and not to listen to the collective cries of thousands of innocent children and women who are being killed in the battlefield, and to join the ranks of tens of thousands of people who take their lives on the side of any one country.

During the Iran-Iraq war, the movement ‘International Action Council for Democratic World Government’ was started in 1985-87 under the leadership of Kannur-Mundanoor resident Rajeev Joseph. Former President Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma inaugurated the “World Cycle Yatra” started by Rajeev Joseph on January 1, 1988 with the message of “World Peace, Disarmament, Democratic World Government”. The purpose of Rajiv Joseph’s “world cycle journey” was to present the message to the world leaders that instead of the dictatorial world government (New World Order) aimed at by dictators, a “democratic world government” of elected representatives from all countries should be formed.
He embarked on a six-year world tour. However, after visiting India’s neighboring countries on bicycle, Rajiv could not go ahead. Following that, a People’s Action Council named ‘International Action Council for Democratic World Government’ was formed and started activities in various countries. Rajiv visited many countries for that purpose. The Action Council’s “logo” was unveiled on July 9, 2012 at “Ground Zero”, the location of the demolished World Trade Center in New York.
The Action Council proposes to establish a “democratic world government” modeled on India’s Central Government, Supreme Court and Central Army, and functioning internationally to prevent wars that kill mankind. No nation should have the right to wage war against another nation. Disputes between two countries should be settled in the International Supreme Court. If any country, organization or individual tries to cause violence, terrorism or war at the international level, they should be apprehended and punished by the International Supreme Court.
A “world parliament” should be launched, with democratically elected members from 205 countries around the world. This world parliament should lead the democratic world government. The international military under the so chosen ‘world government’ should be deployed on the borders of all 205 countries. After the establishment of the World Government, all countries should phase out their existing border forces over a period of ten years, and replace them with world troops recruited from various countries along the borders of all countries. That will end the border wars. In this way, with the huge economic profits that all countries get, the poverty of all people on this earth can be eradicated.
The Action Council under the leadership of Rajeev Joseph has conducted many struggles and satyagrahas against all the wars that have taken place since 1985 till date. In 1990, Rajiv’s 12-day fasting satyagraha at Delhi-India Gate against the Gulf War gained international attention. It was India’s first protest against the Gulf War and the world’s only hunger strike against the Gulf War. When the Russo-Ukraine war broke out, the “Candle March” led by Action Council in February 2022 at the Delhi Jantar Mandar was the first protest march in India against the Russo-Ukraine war.
