Ticket price and theater lines fee will be reduced in Saudi

Jeddah – Saudi Arabia is trying to strengthen the country’s film sector. A move to attract more audience by reducing the license fee for cinema theaters and ticket prices at the theatres. Apart from this, the authorities are also thinking of giving promotional offers to the audience. The decision in this regard was taken by the Board of Directors of the Film Commission, which is chaired by the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.

The Board of Directors of the Film Commission has also decided to transfer to the Film Commission the authority to issue licenses to production studios, licenses for the production of audio-visual content, film distribution licenses and no-objection licenses for film filming through the Cultural Licenses Platform (ABDI). This will expand the powers of the Film Commission and speed up the approval process for film production and distribution. These measures are expected to open more theaters and expand the screening of Saudi films.
