Europe eases visa requirements for Indians
Descriptive text here

Delhi: The European Union has given relief to Indian travelers who want to visit Europe during their vacations. The European Union has created a multiple entry Schengen visa with extended duration. With this, Indian travelers visiting Europe regularly can apply for five-year multiple entry visas.

Long-term, multi-entry Schengen visas valid for two years will now be available to Indian nationals after obtaining and using two visas within the last three years, according to a statement issued by the European Union on Monday.

European Union Ambassador to India Hervé Delfin described the new visa regime as another step to improve relations between India and the European Union. This eliminates the complicated procedures that Indian travelers used to go through to get a Schengen visa.

Under the newly adopted visa ‘cascade’ regime for India, Indian nationals will initially receive multiple entry Schengen visas with a validity of two years. The condition for the visa is that two visas have been obtained and used legally within the last three years.

During the holidays, Indian travelers faced inordinate delays in getting visas to Schengen countries. This lasted for two or three months. During the Covid era, even more delays were required for VC.

Schengen VC includes 29 European countries. 25 of these countries are under the European Union. Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak, Slovak Iceland, Liechtenstein, These countries are Norway, Switzerland and Sweden.
