MUMBAI: 12 people have been arrested along with those who smuggled packets of noodles, diamonds and gold from underwear. This action was taken by the team of customs department. In this action, gold worth 4 crore 4 lakh and diamonds worth 2 crore 2 lakh, a total of 6 crore 6 lakh has been seized.
A passenger who was carrying diamonds from Mumbai airport to Bangkok was arrested by officials of the customs department at Mumbai airport. The authorities had received information that the diamond was going to be smuggled. When it was searched, diamonds worth Rs 2 crore 2 lakh were found in the packet of noodles in the bag. There has been an increase in the incidents of smuggling of diamonds, gold and narcotics from the Mumbai airport for a few months, and many accused have been arrested in this case so far.
321 grams of gold hiddenHe was arrested in this case. In another incident, a passenger arriving in Mumbai from Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, was found to have hidden 321 grams of gold in his underwear. Apart from this, ten passengers who entered Mumbai from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Riyadh, Muscat, Bangkok and Singapore have been arrested in the case of smuggling 6 kg 199 grams of gold. During the investigation, it has been found that the price of this gold in the international market is 4 crore 4 lakh rupees.
